More than 50 years ago, at mid-century, in 1953, satirist Tom Lehrer (uncle of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer anchor Jim Lehrer), released an album entitled Songs by Tom Lehrer. Included in that album was the future classic The Old Dope Peddler. Here are the lyrics and here is an excerpt from the song as performed by Tom Lehrer. You might want to read the lyrics and listen to the excerpt before proceeding.

On August 6, 2003, after a 5-week course of "treatment" with the so-called "anti-depressant" Zoloft, Timothy "Woody" Witczak committed suicide at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

On May 20, 2004, Kim Witczak, his widow, filed a lawsuit against New York-based Pfizer, Inc., the maker of Zoloft, in the County of Hennepin District Court, Fourth Judicial District, in Minneapolis.

Today, Kim Witczak spoke with Etopia Media Medical News Network about what happened to her husband and about what she's doing now as a result of what happened to him.
