Karen Barth Menzies, Baum Hedlund, trial lawyer for Paxil addiction and other SSRI cases

Karen Barth Menzies is the lead attorney for SSRI (Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, etc.) litigation at the Los Angeles law firm of Baum Hedlund. In that capacity, she is coordinating a multi-jurisdictional complaint against GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for the injury allegedly caused to plaintiffs due to the addictive nature of their Paxil drug product.

Ms. Menzies and her firm are also involved in the case of Kim Witczak, the widow of "Woody" Witczak, who committed suicide after being prescribed Zoloft and the case of Christopher Pittman in South Carolina, who is charged with killing his grandparents, which his defenders claim was the result of his taking Paxil and Zoloft for five weeks before the attack.

Ms. Menzies spoke exclusively today with Etopia Media Medical News Network about these cases and about the overall issues involved in what she sees as the negative impact on users of these powerful psycho-active drugs. To hear that interview, click here.

Ms. Menzies has appeared on Etopia programs before. The first time was on March 17, 2004, when she explained, in considerable detail, multiple aspects of the multi-district lawsuit being brought against GlaxoSmithKline by her law firm, Baum Hedlund, on behalf of thousands of allegedly-injured plaintiffs. You can hear that interview by clicking here.

Then on April 7, 2004, she returned to talk about a number of legal developments involving selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs). You can hear that conversation by clicking here.
