LA Rx
Before recently being elected Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa was a member of the Los Angeles City Council. In that capacity, with help from the
Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights (FTCR), he drafted and spearheaded the passage of the "LA Rx" program, designed to lower prescription drug costs to consumers by aggregating demand for these products into a massive "buying club" that could negotiate substantial discounts on prescription drugs for Los Angeles residents.
