Karen Barth Menzies, Baum Hedlund, trial lawyer for Paxil addiction case patients

Karen Barth Menzies is a trial lawyer and a regular guest on Etopia Medical News Network. She was recently designated the lead trial lawyer in the multi-district case involving complaints against GlaxoSmithKline for alleged damage caused to people taking their Paxil anti-depressant.

On April 7, 2004, Ms. Menzies talked exclusively with Etopia Medical News Network about the Paxil addiction case, the FDA, the Congressional investigation into the FDA, pharmacologically "altered humans" on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times, the concept of a "pharmastate," and why Paxil is making GlaxoSmithKline rich while people selling LSD are more likely to be sent to jail than be feted by the Chamber of Commerce, even though the basic physiological mechanisms of action of Paxil and "acid" are the same.
