Michael Badnarik, Libertarian Presidential candidate

Steve Gordon is the Communications Director for Libertarian Michael Badnarik's presidential campaign. He spoke with American Politics Today about Mr. Badnarik's legal efforts to stop Wednesday's "debate" between Republican President George W. Bush and Democratic Senator John F. Kerry at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, unless he is allowed to participate himself.

There are three presidential candidates on the ballot in Arizona: Bush, Kerry, and Badnarik.

The judge in the case decided not to grant a Temporary Restraining Order that would stop the debate unless Mr. Badnarik was allowed to participate. He did, however, leave the door open for a civil suit by the candidate. The exact language of his decision has not yet been released. Mr. Gordon is waiting for it himself and when it arrives, will be able to say more definitively what the next step is for the battling Libertarian candidate for President.
