Judge Jim Gray, Libertarian nominee for U.S. Senator from California
Judge Jim Gray is the Libertarian candidate for one of the two U.S. Senate seats from California. While he is providing the California Senate campaign with new, "out-of-the-box-yet-moderate" ideas, his opponents, Republican Bill Jones and Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer, continue to avoid a commitment to debate with him and submit their own ideas to the interactive scrutiny of media, public, and, of course, Judge Gray himself.

Maybe they think that their ideas are creating such good results that there's really no need to offer the voters anything else. Maybe they're afraid that appearing together with Judge Gray would cut into their own support.
Regardless of all that, Judge Gray is now supporting a ballot initiative that would seriously modify the existing "Three Strikes" law by requiring that second or third felonies that trigger its provisions be violent and/or serious.
It also increases punishments for sex crimes against children and makes those previously sentenced under the current provisions of the law eligible for reductions in their sentences according to the proposed amended law.
