Judge Jim Gray is a Superior Court Judge in Orange County, now on leave to run, as the nominee of the Libertarian Party of California, for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Democrat Barbara Boxer.
On August 10th, the League of Women Voters will be hosting a debate, to take place at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles among all of the U.S. Senate candidates who are polling above 10% among likely voters.
The Democratic nominee, incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer, has been invited. So has the Republican nominee, former Secretary of State Bill Jones.
The Libertarian candidate, Judge Jim Gray, has not been invited to participate in this debate, since, as everyone involved agrees, he is not at this time polling 10% or more of the likely voters.
Ms. Kayden and Judge Gray, although they don't agree on who should participate in this debate, DID agree to participate in a debate of their own about what the rules should be to determine who should be able to participate in statewide Senatorial debates sponsored by the LWV.
THAT debate was hosted by California Politics Today and took place on the afternoon of Friday, July 16th, through a three-way telephone call.
