Rolf Lindgren, Chief Pollster, Libertarian Party

Rolf Lindgren is the Chief Pollster of the Libertarian Party. As such, he was closely involved with the recent Rasmussen Reports poll showing that 68% of those polled would like to see Libertarian Party candidate Michael Badnarik invited to participate in this year' s televised president debates.

(Interestingly, this is the same percentage that another Rasmussen Reports poll showed would like to see Libertarian Judge Jim Gray given an opportunity to participate in the televised August 10th Museum of Tolerance/League of Women Voters California Senate debate in Los Angeles.)

Mr. Lindgren is also knowledgeable about the Rasmussen Report poll taken on July 22nd that revealed that eight percent of likely California voters would vote for Libertarian Judge Jim Gray if the U.S. Senate election had been held that day and that 18% would vote for him if they thought their vote would make all the difference.

California Politics Today spoke today with Mr. Lindgren to get his observations on the role of polling in the campaigns of non-Republican/non-Democratic candidates. The discussion also covered subjects related to the role and future of these campaigns in the context of the Democratic-Republican electoral duopoly.
