California Assemblymember Dave Cox---------California Assemblymember Wilma Chan
In separate interviews today, California Politics Today asked Republican California Assemblymember Dave Cox and Rachel Richman, chief of staff to Democratic Assemblymember Wilma Chan, chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee, how much the audit of federal HAVA money, which has been under the control of California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley, would cost the state.
"About a hundred thousand dollars, in round numbers," answered Assemblymember Cox.
"The cost will be a little over a hundred thousand dollars," replied Chief of Staff Richman.
Funds to cover this expense do not need to be specially appropriated. They will be taken from the normal operating budget of the California Bureau of State Audits.
