Barbara Simons is a computer scientist, now retired from IBM. She was one of the four members of the Security Peer Review Group (SPRG), which issued A Security Analysis of the Secure Electronic Registration and Voting Experiment (SERVE) in January, 2004, precipitating, a few days later, the withdrawal of SERVE from use in the November, 2004, elections.

Now, with legislation pending in the U.S. Congress that would revive the SERVE program, Etopia Media Voting News is contacting those individuals who were involved in stopping SERVE the first time and getting their current views on the possible revival of this remote Internet voting system.
