Responding to scathing criticism in the recent "Minority Report", written by four computer scientist/security experts, which said that the Secure Electronic Registration and Voting Experiment (SERVE), intended to be used by overseas voters in the 2004 election, was not secure and could not be made secure, and other annoyances, including reports on this Latest VotingNews web site pointing out the impossibility of ever properly certifying SERVE under existing election law, the U.S. Department of Defense today canceled the SERVE program.
