As part of its ongoing effort to demonstrate the power and utility of wireless networks to improve the quality of life in Philadelphia, Wireless Philadelphia arranged recently with Pronto Networks, a Pleasanton, California-based company that provides carrier-class Operations Support Systems (OSS) that enable network operators to deploy and manage large public hot spot and hot zone networks, and Pervasive Services, a leading provider of content creation and distribution systems over wireless networks, to deploy "The Cloud at Wireless Philadelphia" to enhance the experience of Philadelphia residents and visitors attending the Live 8 all-star charity concert that took place in Love Park in Philadelphia on July 2, 2005.
