3G Phoebus mobile Wi-Fi router from Top Global
Top Global is an Orange County, California-based electronics company that recently announced the availability of its 3G Phoebus mobile router, which uses a PCMCIA card (available from several vendors) in conjunction with an advanced 3G wireless broadband connection from a cellular carrier to generate local Wi-Fi access hot spots.
The Phoebus unit from Top Global and other, similar products from Kyocera and Junxion, were reviewed and discussed by New York Times Technology Reporter David Pogue in the February 23, 2006, edition of that paper, in an article entitled "Wi-Fi to Go: The Hot Spot in a Box."
To get a first-hand account of the pyramid-shaped 3G Phoebus product from Top Global, Broadband Wireless Access World spoke this afternoon over a Skype videoconference connection with Dr. Alan Zhou, President and Chief Technology Officer at Top Global.
