Vermont State Representative Daryl Pillsbury laments low attendance at impeachment press conference

Last Thursday, February 15, 2007, as reported here, a resolution "requesting Congress to commence impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States" was introduced into the Vermont House of Representatives, with 20 co-sponsors.

Today, Daryl Pillsbury, a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, spoke with the Impeachment Channel about the low turn-out at a press conference announcing that event, saying that only two members of the press, and those ones permanently assigned to cover goings-on in the Green Mountain State's capitol, attended that event.

Representatives Pillsbury also reiterated his view, expressed on February 10, 2007, here, that the Vermont impeachment resolution was likely to go no further than the Judiciary Committee to which it has now been referred.

Representative Pillsbury did indicate that its chances of success would be enhanced if supporters of impeachment, both within and outside Vermont, communicate their views to legislative leaders in Montpelier.
