Washington State Senator Eric Oemig (D-45th)

Washington State Senator Eric Oemig has introduced into the Washington State Senate a "joint memorial," #8016, calling for the impeachment of George W. Bush by the U.S. House of Representatives, on the grounds of lying to get the U.S. to invade Iraq, warrantless wiretaps, and the striping of U.S. citizens' rights. The joint memorial says that the "War with Iraq has cost the lives of many Washington state residents and squandered taxpayer money from the state of Washington…"

Senator Oemig spoke yesterday with Impeachment Channel about a February 20, 2007, Town Hall meeting in Olympia, Washington, where he, author David Lindorff, Fellowship of Reconciliation of Bellevue Director Linda Boyd, and others addressed a crowd of over 700 people about the need to impeach George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney.
