Dan DeWalt is "a fourth generation cabinetmaker" and a selectman in the Vermont town of Newfane. He first appeared on the Impeachment Channel on February 6, 2007, to talk about his and others' efforts to pass a resolution calling for the impeachment of George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney at the 2006 Newfane, Vermont, Town Meeting.

The Impeachment Channel spoke again today with Selectman DeWalt about the passage on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, of impeachment resolutions in 38 additional towns in the Green Mountain State and how those involved in those events, and others, are now working to build on the momentum of this grassroots shout-out to the legislature to convince Speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives Gaye Symington, the "Nancy Pelosi of the Vermont" and wife of a former top executive at Ben & Jerry's, and William J. "Bill" Lippert, Chair of the Judiciary Committee of the Vermont House of Representatives, a long-time champion of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people, and a central figure in the "the work of drafting and passing into law the landmark Vermont Civil Union law which granted legal recognition to same gender couples," and the rest of the the Vermont House Judiciary Committee to move forward with the passage of a resolution calling for the impeachment of the President and Vice President of the U.S.
