According to an article on SourceWatch:

“The Fresno Nuclear Energy Group was launched in mid-December 2006 to promote the establishment of a nuclear power station in Fresno county, California.”

Today, the Nuclear Power Channel spoke with John Hutson, Fresno Nuclear Energy Group President and CEO, about that company’s plans to build and operate a nuclear power plant in Fresno.

During that interview, Mr. Hutson said that the company was planning a state ballot initiative for the November, 2008, election to lift the state-imposed moratorium on the construction of new nuclear power plants until there exists an “approved and demonstrated technology or means for the disposal of high-level nuclear waste,” which is also the intention of AB 719, by California Assemblymember Chuck DeVore, which is currently pending in the California State Assembly.
