John Hutson, President/CEO of Fresno Nuclear Energy Group, says it will launch initiative campaign to lift nuclear power plant construction moratorium in California
“The Fresno Nuclear Energy Group was launched in mid-December 2006 to promote the establishment of a nuclear power station in Fresno county, California.”
During that interview, Mr. Hutson said that the company was planning a state ballot initiative for the November, 2008, election to lift the state-imposed moratorium on the construction of new nuclear power plants until there exists an “approved and demonstrated technology or means for the disposal of high-level nuclear waste,” which is also the intention of AB 719, by California Assemblymember Chuck DeVore, which is currently pending in the California State Assembly.
